Animal shelters and animal rescue groups are the best source when searching for a pet. There are hundreds of pets within our cities that are retained in local animal shelters or rescue groups hoping to be placed in happy and healthy homes.

These pets have either wandered away from their homes or they were surrendered to animal shelters or rescue groups by their owners for a variety of reasons.

Rabies - A brief Introduction

Recently, while joining a conversation on Facebook, a question was presented on how to tell if a dog is rabid. With the question at hand, I was not sure if I felt comfortable to identify any animal infected with rabies unless the animal was at the final stage, and foaming at the mouth. With my curiosity peeked I began to research. I soon realized there is more to learn and understand about the disease. There are many signs to identify whether an animal is infected with rabies prior to the disease developing into the final stages.

Puppy Mills – Pregnancy for Profit

Unfortunately in our societies around the world, dogs are forced to live in cages and in despicable living conditions to serve one primary purpose—to breed. It's quite sad really. In many cases, each year, thousands of dogs will never see the light of day. They will spend much of their time fighting for food and water. Female dogs will give birth to puppies until they just simply die. The dogs are treated as if they are expendable creatures with no reason for life.
