Save the Date. The Pet Post and Alpha Pet Care present: A Second Chance Pet Adoption & Summer Dog Days Pet Bazaar. July 14, 2013 at Good Neighbor Park, 2800 N Studebaker Rd., Long Beach, CA 90815. 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Join us for a day of pet adoption, music, entertainment, shopping, and eating. Starting at 12:00 p.m., The Pet Post and Alpha Pet Care invite you, Fido, your family and your friends to participate in the Summer Dog Days Pet Pageant and modeling contest. There will be a total of six winners selected from two categories—small dogs and large dogs. There is no cost to enter. We are simply asking contestants to bring a bag of dog or cat food to be donated to a pet charity.

Nearly a dozen dog and cat animal rescue organizations will be on site seeking to find homes for many displaced pets. So come out and meet our special guests and adopt your new best friend.

March 10, 2013, The Pet Post and Pet Sit Pros hosted the 3rd "A Second Chance" Pet Adoption and St. Patty's Pet Pageant / Pet Fair. The event was a great success and we are honored to share with you many highlights.

Eight interest (pet adoption) applications were collected by various pet rescue organizations. Important, The Pet Post and Pet Sit Pros raised pet adoption awareness and numerous community members displayed interest for foster and volunteer opportunities to support the many animal rescue organizations in attendance. We would like to thank the following animal rescue groups for attending: RescueMe Pups, Angel City Pets, Coastal Sherman Shepherd Rescue, Dobies and Little Paws Rescue, Sunny Saints, spcaLA, Long Beach Animal Care Services, Seal Beach Animal Care Center, Golden Retriever Club, Animal Match Rescue Team, Long Beach Spay & Neuter, and Long Beach Felines.

1,000 pounds of dog food was collected for F.O.O.D. for Pets, an organization that collects food for low income and homeless pet owners. An additional $200 will be donated in cat and dog food with the remaining proceeds from the event raised by The Pet Post and Pet Sit Pros.
Event sponsors Alpha Pet Care, CanvasPet, Holistic Pet Center, DogVacay.com, Team Warren Real Estate, and Paw Shoppe Pet Center awarded six (6) winners who participated in the St. Patty's Pet Pageant; representing both small and large dog contestants.

We would like to give a "big" thanks to Long Beach comedienne Lynda Montgomery who graciously charmed the crowd throughout the event, and D.J. Ric for donating his time and music selection to entertain the multitude of guests who attended the special event.
