What a great day for nearly 100 pets in need of homes. During the Heidi and Frank Pet Adoption Day Event held at the spcaLA P.D. Pitchford Companion Animal Village, June 8, 2013, nearly 100 dogs and cats were adopted. According to sources, many more pet adoptions will occur as the impact of the event continues.
Shuttled in by the bus loads, people filled the P.D. Pitchford Companion Animal Village to meet to the very popular Heidi and Frank from 95.5 KLOS Los Angeles best rock station. But for many people there intent was to walk the grounds of the spcaLA and Long Beach Animal Shelter to adopt their new best friend.
Ana Bustilloz. Director of Communications & Marketing of spcaLA says "I'm happy to report we found 83 pets new families on Saturday, and over 330 since promotions began (even more than last year!). About 2,500 people came through the Village on Saturday, and everyone I spoke with had a terrific time. We had a number of really special adoption stories, like Hanna, a Silver Lab who'd been with us since April; Coal, a Chow mix who came to us in terrible shape and many others."
We would like to thank Heidi and Frank and the team of KLOS for taking such a strong stance to educate the public on the importance of pet adoption and humane education.
